Safe Ship Theme Day in cooperation with SSRS invites to: Search and rescue operations

The Safe Ship theme seminar takes place at SSRS:s facilities at Talattagatan 24, Västra Frölunda.
Our annual Safe Ship theme day will be arranged in cooperation with SSRS (Swedish Sea Rescue Society) and focus on search and rescue operations. This seminar will address the following subjects:
- Safe return to port
- Search operations
- Mass rescue operations
The Safe Ship theme seminar takes place on November 25th at 9.00 – 12.15 at SSRS:s facilities at Talattagatan 24, Västra Frölunda.

Offshore structures and wind energy

The Cargo Ship annual theme day 2011 focussed on “Offshore structures and wind energy”.

Offshore structures and wind mills are structures which are designed according to principles based on risk analysis. Invited speakers from industry presented interesting projects on these topics and outlined the need for future research activities.
Two PhD students at Chalmers, Luis Sanchez and Hans Liwång, presented their ongoing research which incorporates risk analysis applied on safe and efficient design of composite structures and how to construct ships to protect them against piracy attacks, respectively.
