    Logistics & Transport

Logistics & Transport is the Swedish transport industry’s major annual event, held at the Swedish Exhibition Centre, Gothenburg.

This year’s event, 4-6 May, will be twice as big, with a strong programme as usual. Shipping is included in the session “Intermodality – how to proceed? Demands, barriers and solutions”. This corresponds to the ongoing integration of shipping into door-to-door transport chains. Johan Woxenius represents Lighthouse on the reference board, with a particular responsibility for shipping aspects. He will be taking part in two panel discussions during the conference. The seminars will mostly be held in Swedish, with a few exceptions.

The 62nd Nordic Technical Universities Shipbuilder Congress, NTHS

The 62nd Nordic Technical Universities Shipbuilder Congress, NTHS, took place in Sweden, Gothenburg, the 23 – 27 March 2009. 50 students from the Nordic shipbuilders technical universities travelled around Sweden and visited the ship and yacht industry.

On March 26 the students visited Lindholmen in Gothenburg and attended a seminar where Anders Marby and Jonas Ringsberg presented ongoing research within LIGHTHOUSE. Since 1948, NTHS has been arranged in different Nordic countries. It’s a remarkable tradition, where we establish contacts with universities from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, as well as with the “Nordic ship industry”.
