Time for dialogue meetings about inland waterways and coastal shipping

The Swedish Maritime Administration has been tasked by the government to analyse the development potential of inland waterways and coastal shipping in Sweden. Now in September, the industry are invited to share their thoughts about the project.

To review the conditions for coastal and inland waterways is part of the Swedish government's policy to strengthen the competitiveness of shipping. An increased proportion of goods by sea can relieve both rail and road and contribute to a more sustainable transport system. The result of the project will be reported to the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation in December.

The project is conducted in cooperation with the Swedish Transport Administration, the Swedish Transport Agency and various representatives from the industry.

The next step in the project is two upcoming dialogue meeting together with the industry. The dates are 13 September in Stockholm and 20 September in Gothenburg.
